Apricum is pleased to announce the appointment of Matt Black to its team of senior advisors. Mr. Black is an expert in the development, financing and asset management of solar and storage projects, with a focus on the UK market.
Known throughout the UK industry as Chairman of Solar Energy UK, Mr. Black is currently COO at Solivus, a UK-based cleantech startup and an MD at Innovo Group, an investor and development platform for solar and battery storage projects.

He brings an astute understanding of the industry’s future needs. Prior to his current roles, Mr. Black served as investment director at Armstrong Capital Management Limited, where he led developments and investments in solar, flexibility and new energy ventures. Before that he was senior investment director at Foresight Group where he led origination and acquisitions of over GBP 400M of energy projects, building one of Europe’s largest solar portfolios and making investments into some of the first utility‑scale battery storage facilities in the UK.
Mr. Black holds a master’s degree in environmental technology (energy policy) from Imperial College London, an MA in international relations and a BA in politics, both from the University of Sheffield.
