Carlo Capponi
Apricum – The Cleantech Advisory is pleased to welcome Carlo Capponi, a renewable energy finance specialist in Brazil, to its team of senior advisors.
Based in São Paolo, Carlo brings a wealth of experience in originating, structuring and executing advisory and M&A transactions in the sustainability space. Over the last 15 years, he advised investors and developers in originating, evaluating, selling or structuring 4+ GW of combined solar, wind and hydroelectric projects in Europe, USA and Brazil.
Carlo is currently managing partner & CEO of UBK Consulting GmbH, an independent financial advisory firm specialized in sustainable infrastructure transactions, which he founded in 1995. Since 2020, he has also been managing director of the firm’s Brazilian subsidiary UBK Consulting Brasil Ltda, based in São Paulo.
He began his career at Montedison, one of the largest global conglomerates (energy, chemicals, petrochemicals, life science, agrochemicals) in modern Italian history, and looks back on 25+ years of corporate consulting experience on a global basis.
Carlo is a fluent Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish speaker besides being both a German and an Italian national and mother-tongue. He holds a MSc in Business Administration from Bocconi University of Milan (Italy) – where he also taught Strategic Planning and Technology Management in the late 90’s.
