Apricum Partner Yusuf Macun
Apricum, a transaction advisory and strategy consulting firm specialized in renewable energy, announces the appointment of Yusuf Macun as partner. He joins existing partners Nikolai Dobrott, Florian Haacke, Dr. Moritz Borgmann and Florian Mayr and will lead Apricum’s project finance advisory practice from his base in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Macun’s banking and finance background enables Apricum to offer its clients a full-service package around large-scale renewable-energy projects, ranging from commercial advisory and coordinating functions to procurement advisory, full financial structuring, debt and equity arranging and financial modeling.
“We are seeing significant demand for Apricum’s specialist financial and commercial advisory services. We have been on the lookout for the right person who can lead and further develop this area of our business and we are thrilled that Yusuf is coming on board,” said Nikolai Dobrott, Apricum’s founder and managing partner.

Yusuf Macun has over 20 years of experience in energy and infrastructure financing and investments, with a focus on the power, infrastructure, oil and gas and renewables sectors. His impressive track record includes the successful closing of cross-border deals in excess of USD 17B in a range of emerging and developed markets, in particular the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa. Macun will continue to advise on non-renewable transactions through a separate platform to be announced in the coming weeks.
About Yusuf Macun
Before joining Apricum, Yusuf Macun held leadership roles including head of project and commercial finance at Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA). Prior to that, he was head of power and renewables for Europe and Africa at HSBC London, where he advised governments and corporates on a wide range of transactions across EMEA in sectors including wind, solar, thermal and nuclear power generation. He has also held roles at the Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund, Lazard, Flemings and Rolls-Royce Power Ventures. Yusuf is a graduate of HEC Paris and ENSIMAG, Grenoble.
